Campaign to End Period Poverty

Campaign to End Period Poverty
24 Aug

Dundee United supporters’ groups, ULT83 and ArabTrust have joined forces to provide free sanitary products for women visiting Tannadice. Dundee United are one of only a handful of Football Clubs taking part in this campaign to tackle Period Poverty. Statistics have indicated that 1 in 10 girls have been unable to afford sanitary products and the fans’ groups wanted to do their bit to help.

Currently funded by the groups themselves, products will be available in the Ladies’ toilets in 2 of the stands as well as the Hegarty Suite from the match against Partick Thistle this Saturday.

ULT83 have to date, raised over £5,000 for local community causes as well as the Dundee United Youth Development Board and the Dundee United Community Trust. They were delighted to join forces with ArabTrust, who have provided over £300,000 to Dundee United since 2003. This investment has been centered around commitment to Youth Development via the Dundee United Youth Development Board and the club’s commitment to work within the community through the Dundee United Community Trust.
