Announcement ArabTRUST AGM Thursday 30th March 2017

While some of the performances and results on the park may have not been what we would all have hoped for over the last few weeks there is still so much for the team to play for between now and the end of the season. It may be clichéd to say that the supporters are the 12th man in any team and it's vital that we all continue to back Ray and the players to give them the best chance of securing promotion at the end of the season. We have a home support that is the envy of many a Premiership team and the numbers travelling to many away games has been really impressive and we must use this to our advantage to help achieve the club’s aim of returning to the top division at the first time of asking.

The board of ArabTRUST would like to announce that our AGM will be held on Thursday 30th March in Club 83 with a 7pm start. All fully paid up members as at 29th March are eligible to attend. We would like to see as many members as possible attending the AGM so that you can hear about what we have been doing over the last year and allow you to share your views on what we should be doing over the coming months. Details of how to join ArabTRUST (or renew membership) are available via our website ArabTRUST.co.uk or on match days by visiting our shops in both the Eddie Thompson and George Fox stands. Membership costs only £15 for an adult and is free for those under 18 and we pledge to invest all membership income in the next year directly to youth development at the club. If you have any queries regarding your membership, please email membership@arabtrust.co.uk. We are also pleased to announce that following the AGM both Ray McKinnon and Laurie Ellis will be in attendance for a Q&A session.

ArabTRUST key objectives are Youth Development, Community Development, representing our member's views to the club to try and influence decisions at boardroom level and increase our shareholding in the club. There is no doubt there have been many challenges to our relationship with the club following relegation at the end of last season but we have worked extremely hard to re-establish a professional relationship with key personnel at all levels in the club (from the boardroom, to management, the commercial department and ticket office etc.) and this is vital to help ensure that we can achieve all of our objectives.

In terms of Youth Development we have been working with other organisations such as the Business Club and DUDA alongside Brian Grant, Academy Manager at the club to establish a Youth Development Board which will help coordinate funds raised from supporters organisations directly into the Youth Academy and also assist the club in their bid for elite status within the SFA's Project Brave initiative. More details regarding this will be provided at the official launch in the next few weeks.

On the community side of things, we are very proud our sister charity United for All (UfA) are continuing to expand their activities with initiatives such as walking football (with plans being put in place for several other walking sports) and homework clubs to name but two. UfA have ambitious plans to expand their activities and have several funding applications outstanding which if successful will provide valuable support in many areas of the local community. The recently established Dundee United Women’s Team is also part of the community initiatives we support and as one of their main sponsors ArabTRUST were delighted to see that they won a league and cup double in their first season and we will be continuing our support of the team in their new season which has just kicked off. With UfA and the Club we are also working towards organising a foodbank collection at the Hibs game at the beginning of March, more details of this will be publicised leading up to the game.

Via our Associate Director, Stuart Campbell we have unique access to all areas of the club and Stuart is also our representative on the Supporters Liaison Group. The Associate Director position gives us the opportunity to raise questions/queries/concerns from our members with the club at any time. If you have any points you would like us to raise we can be contacted at yoursay@arabtrust.co.uk

Finally the club's annual accounts have just been released with the AGM to follow shortly afterwards and as the third largest shareholder in the club we will be represented at the meeting. We aim to circulate a summary of the club's accounts and a list of questions we are proposing to raise to the club's board to all members ahead of the club AGM and will advise of the club's responses as quickly as possible thereafter. Any further questions that you may wish to raise can be sent to us by the aforementioned email address and will be passed to the appropriate area of the club for a response by Stuart.
