Society Board: Merchandise - David Baxter
David was first introduced to United by his cousins’ Fiancé (who was a Dee!) who took him along to see his first game in November 1977.
He stood in the old Enclosure watching what was Gordon Strachan’s Aberdeen debut. Although a defeat, the atmosphere bit. Along with the pennant bought from the club shop under what’s now the Jerry Kerr Stand, the memories of that day still stay with David to this day.
A scarf (which he still wears occasionally today) was given 2 weeks later for his birthday and the rest is history.
David has seen all the trophy wins and sampled many great European nights, but David’s most memorable moment as an Arab is watching the players celebrate following winning the Scottish cup in 94’, especially Narey & Hegarty who had suffered defeat along with the legions of United fans at Hampden on so many occasions.
David joined ArabTRUST's Board in July 2011 after spending season 2010/2011 volunteering in our Tangerine Trading Posts.
Having worked for John Menzies, he had a keen interest in the retail side of ArabTRUST and took on the task of overseeing Merchandise - our biggest line of income.
David Currently works in the catering industry, which he has done for over the last 8 years following a long career in retail management.
David now lives in Glamis, is a season ticket holder in the Eddie Thompson stand and travels to most away games as well.
