ArabTRUST's EGM and Q&A report

Posted Thursday 22nd September 2011

ArabTRUST's Board would like to thank all who attended tonight's EGM at Club 83, Dundee.

Any members who couldn't attend are welcome to email secretary@arabtrust.co.uk for a copy of the minutes.

We are delighted to announce the following elected appointments:

ArabTRUST Chairman - Derek Robertson
ArabTRUST Associate Director - Colin Stewart
ArabTRUST Vice-Chairman - Christopher Bennison
ArabTRUST Treasurer - Gavin Muir

We also asked members to agree to a change of our rules in respect of the need for a professional company audit on an annual basis. This cost us around £2,500 per year. We feel the audit can just as easily be undertaken by an independent qualified accountant. We think that the cost saved would be better used by being invested in United’s youth. This rule change was approved by the membership.

ArabTRUST would like to thank United Manager and Scotland Assistant Manger Peter Houston and United Chairman Stephen Thompson for partaking of our Q&A tonight.

Chaired by ArabTRUST Secretary Steven Hughes, it was a typically lively and entertaining grilling, subjects ranged from Scott Allan, league reconstruction, the national team, the Youth Academy, transfers, match attendance and much more.

We were also pleased to have along several players from the St.John's United Youth Academy and coaches.

ArabTRUST's Board now continue to move forward with our priority being the Youth Academy. Thanks to Board member David Mulholland for his tenure as Acting Vice-Chairman. Acting Chairman Christopher Bennison, as mentioned before, moved to the Vice-Chairman role. Gavin Muir went from Acting Treasurer to Treasurer.

Welcome to the new members who joined tonight and thanks for supporting our merchandise, the signed Jim McLean Legend t-shirts being a particular favourite this evening.

New Associate Director Colin Stewart will attend the next Dundee United Board meeting and we now continue our passion for what we do - supporting and raising funds for United's Youth System, member representation in the Tannadice Boardroom, share purchase in the Dundee United Football Company Ltd. and football related community projects.

We thank you once again for attending and we look ahead to ArabTRUST's Comedy Night on 7th October 2011.

P2BAA.

Shed Rule.
