ArabTRUST have been inundated with questions with regards to the home leg of the AEK Athens match. Here are the answers to the FAQs so far:-
Q - "I am a season ticket holder, during the 3 day priority period, how many tickets can I buy?"
A - We've not managed to get confirmation on this but United are in the business of selling tickets and will want to have as big a crowd as possible for the AEK match. I would respectfully urge common sense. I should think the Club will not have a problem with selling you, the season ticket holder, your ticket and two or three more on top of that akin to the way it was done with Scottish Cup tickets. I would speculate that excessive ticket orders will be judged individually and ultimately it will be down to the discretion of the Club on how many tickets you may buy. If you are in any doubt, 01382 833166 (options 1 & 3) is the Box Office number, call beforehand.
Q - "In the past, ArabTRUST members, ArabZONE subscribers and Tannadice Lottery players had a priority period after season ticket holders. Why do they not have a priority period this time?"
A - With the draw being made on Friday, United have had to act fast to get tickets printed and the whole AEK home fixture organised with staff, police and security booked along with other mandatory requirements. The only priority period the Club could offer on this occasion was to season ticket holders due to time.
Q - "Will there be a student discount for the AEK match?"
A - Students over 18 will pay the adult price for this match.
Q - "Will the Jerry Kerr Stand be in use for the AEK match?"
A - The Jerry Kerr has 2,200 seats, 1,800 of which are being replaced. This work is due to be completed by 16th August. However, for obvious reasons, the Club will sell tickets for this section last.
Q - "What section will AEK fans be in?"
A - Probably, the Fair Play Lower - depending on the number of tickets requested. They are entitled to 5% of Tannadice seating but may not take this up in full.
Q - "I don't have my season ticket yet, how will I be able to get tickets during the priority period?"
A - Voucher A or your seat number/season ticket book number will be required, but if you've not received your season ticket yet, your name will be on the Club's system.
Q - "Why do season ticket holders get priority?"
A - Dundee United promised season ticket holders an exclusive priority period for European matches and tight timescales dictate that it is simply not possible to have a secondary priority period on this occasion. Season tickets are still available with a pay monthly finance option if you wish to be able to take advantage of the 3 day priority period.
Q - "I am not happy if season ticket holders get two or three tickets. Living in England, I can't get a season ticket, but I am a member of ArabTRUST and the Tannadice Lottery. But I now risk losing out on going to this game because season ticket holders buy for their mates, who can go, but don't normally bother. Not fair! 1 season ticket - 1 ticket!"
A - I myself as a season ticket holder will be taking my daughter for her first ever match with me as well as my father who tends to work at weekends, so it's rare that he can go to matches. The 1 ticket per season ticket holder policy would mean that I would have to wait until general sales to buy all 3 tickets so that we can sit together as a family. I, and many others, would resent it if I couldn't do this as United promised season ticket holders an exclusive priority period for European matches which would make that gesture useless to me and many others if it were a 1 ticket per season ticket holder system. I will be buying my ticket, my daughter's and my father's at the same time during the priority period ensuring we can sit together.
Q - "What about those who can't afford £22 for a ticket?"
A - The Club are looking for Programme Sellers for the forthcoming season. There is an urgent requirement for sellers for the AEK match. The deal is 10p per programme sold plus a free match ticket. Sellers are required to arrive at Tannadice 90 minutes before kick off and sell programmes right up to the start of the game. You should miss no more than the first 5 minutes. If you are interested or know someone who is, call 07711 638864 or email stephen@trendellsimpson.co.uk
