DUFC Director and ArabTRUST Board member Derek Robertson has generously donated a mascot package to ArabTRUST.
Derek won the prize at Friday night's League Cup 30th Anniversary Dinner raffle and the package will now be auctioned off to the highest bidder with proceeds going to ArabTRUST funds.
The majority part of those funds are of course invested in the new youth development Academy at Tannadice to help coaches Brian Grant, Stevie Campbell and Ian Cathro find the stars of tomorrow.
Garry Kenneth is a prime example of what can be achieved. Here is a local boy and United supporter who progressed through the Jim McLean School of Excellence to United’s Youth side by the age of sixteen and was a first team member less than a year later.
Garry has now represented the club in two national cup finals. Of the current squad, David Robertson, Greg Cameron and David Goodwillie have come through the system. Keith Watson, Ryan McCord, Johnny Russell and Dale Hilson are all bright prospects for the future as a result of the youth policy.
At every first team match at Tannadice, the team run out accompanied by United mascots. Imagine the sheer joy that this package would bring to one youngster you know and love. Bidding for this package would without a doubt make their dreams come true. An early Christmas gift for one lucky lad or lass.
This fantastic package includes Executive Box Hospitality for the mascot and 3 other guests for United's SPL match versus Rangers on Tuesday 15th December 2009 kick-off 7.45pm. Included is a two-course buffet meal with tea, coffee and soft drinks, a half time fayre, match programmes and exclusive teamsheets. You will also watch the match from one of the Executive glass boxes. This is a Category A package which is worth more than £500.
